I went in London March 4 at the Royal College of music to attend the concert of two great friends of mine: Jai-Yi He who is the most gifted Chinese harmonica player and Jafeng Chen who was the winner of the 9th International Wiieniawski Violin Competition in Poland; Jafeng Chen despite the young age has already entered into Ranking the Top Ten Chinese. He played with an aged, precious violin (it was built in 1761) in an extraordinary way. Jia-Yi He is a world class musician currently working with symphony orchestras in Asia and America. At the end of the concert I was invited to duet with the harmonica on a fragment of a Vivaldi concerto written for two violins and piano. It was a great pleasure and an honor to meet such great musicians. The organization by the British Chinese Youth Federation has been excellent: simplicity, availability, professionalism at the highest level.
